The York County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applications with attached resume’ for the position(s) of full time Patrol Deputy Sheriff within the Police Services Division. The position is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the rural communities of York County; criminal investigations; enforcement of traffic laws; and community policing. Individuals must be in good health, a supporter of community policing and of high integrity. The position requires a minimum of: HS diploma or GED and be at least 21 years old at the time of hire; valid drivers license w/acceptable motor vehicle record; no criminal record. A Maine Criminal Justice Academy full-time Police Officer certification or full-time law enforcement certification from another state that will be accepted by the MCJA or MCJA pre-service certification is preferred.
The hiring process includes but is not limited to extensive background investigation, physical agility test, written exam, oral boards, psychological and polygraph examinations.
